We are searching for a reliable Medical Assistant to perform various office and clinical duties to keep our practice running efficiently. Our Medical Assistant will work directly with the physician to maintain patient records, explain common medical procedures to patients and assist in basic examinations.

Qualifications

• Seeking an experienced, energetic, & detailed-oriented Medical Assistant with Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery, or Dermatology experience

• The candidate must demonstrate advanced knowledge of the skills to perform preliminary work-up & ancillary testing

• The qualified individual must understand medical templates, patient flow, and the basics of health insurance

• A minimum of 1 year experience required

• Candidate must be will to cross-train to meet administrative tasks specific to the practice

• Ability to prioritize and multitask

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Strong organizational skills

Job Description:

• Rooming patients in a timely manner in order to stay on schedule

• Obtaining and documenting patient history

• Determine visual acuity

• Performing visual field testing

• Performing office duties and clinicals tasks including answering phones and scheduling follow up appointments

• Basic knowledge of insurance benefits

• Assisting in ophthalmic in office procedures

• Maintaining equipment and instruments

• Stocking patient exam rooms

• Schedule appointments

• Must be able to travel to Macon, GA satellite clinic once a month

• Track lab/diagnostic tests and results and ensure they are shown to physician for review and signature and placed in medical record
